Enrique Murciano

Enrique Ricardo Murciano is an American actor born on July 9, 1973, in Miami, Florida. Raised in the culturally diverse neighborhoods of Miami, he attended Christopher Columbus High School before enrolling at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he earned his undergraduate degree. Although he briefly studied law at the New England School of Law in Boston, Murciano soon realized his passion lay in performance and left the legal path to pursue acting, relocating to Los Angeles in the mid‑1990s. His screen debut arrived in 1997 with the action‑thriller Speed 2: Cruise Control, where he played a supporting role opposite Sandra Bullock, marking the beginning of a long‑standing professional relationship that would later include Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. Over the next few years he built a diverse résumé, appearing in the critically acclaimed crime drama Traffic (2000) and the war film Black Hawk Down (2001), the latter of which introduced him to producer Jerry Bruckheimer and secured him the role that would define his career. From 2002 to 2009 Murciano portrayed FBI Special Agent Danny Taylor on the CBS mystery series Without a Trace, a part that earned him two ALMA Award nominations and solidified his status as a reliable television lead. Following the series' conclusion, he guest‑starred on procedural favorites such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and NCIS, delivering memorable performances as Detective Carlos Moreno and CIA Agent Ray “CI‑Ray” Cruz respectively. In 2012 he ventured into supernatural drama with a recurring role on 666 Park Avenue, and the following year he joined the science‑fiction franchise as Kemp in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. His television work continued with notable stints as Felipe Lobos on Starz’s Power (2014‑2016) and as Detective Marco Diaz on Netflix’s Bloodline. Most recently, he appeared as the gang leader “Poison” in the streaming hit Bright (2017), further demonstrating his versatility across genres.
