Elizabeth Bracco (born November 5, 1957) is an American actress whose career spans more than four decades, marked by a blend of gritty television roles and memorable supporting turns in film. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Salvatore Bracco Sr., an Italian‑American who served in World War II, and Eileen (née Molyneux), a war‑bride of English birth with French ancestry. The couple met during the war, and after their marriage they settled on Long Island, where Elizabeth was raised alongside her sister Lorraine, who would later achieve fame as Dr. Jennifer Melfi on The Sopranos. Growing up in a bicultural household, Elizabeth absorbed both the Italian traditions of her father and the more cosmopolitan influences of her mother, shaping a versatile identity that would later inform her acting choices. She attended local schools before moving to New York City to pursue theatrical training, a decision that set the foundation for her eventual entry into film and television.
