Elias Koteas is a well-established Canadian actor, born on March 11, 1961. He is highly recognized for his role as Alvin "Al" Olinsky in the popular Chicago franchise, gaining a considerable reputation in both lead and supporting roles through several films. Koteas' talent has not gone unnoticed as he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actor for his exceptional performance in the film, Ararat (2002). His filmography is extensive, boasting films such as Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), The Adjuster (1991), Exotica (1994), The Prophecy (1995), Crash (1996), and numerous others.

Koteas was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to a mechanic father who worked for the Canadian National Railways and a mother who was a milliner. Both his parents are of Greek descent. His education took place in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York as well as Vanier College in Montreal. His career is diverse and vibrant, with distinctive roles in a multitude of films. Notably, Koteas played the lead role of Thomas Daggett in the American film The Prophecy (1995) and depicted sports-crazed vigilante Casey Jones in two of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. Besides his vast film career, he has also appeared in hit televisions series such as The Sopranos and House. From 2014 to 2018, Koteas found a steady role on the NBC Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D.
