What's After the Movie
Dan Mintz is an American actor, comedian, and television writer best known for voicing Tina Belcher on the hit animated series Bob's Burgers. Born on September 25, 1981 in Anchorage, Alaska to a Jewish family, Mintz spent his formative years in the remote north before moving to the East Coast to attend Harvard University, where he honed his comedic voice writing for the venerable Harvard Lampoon. His dry, dead‑pan delivery—characterized by a constantly fixed stare and a deliberate avoidance of eye contact—quickly became his signature on stage, a technique he attributes to natural stage fright that he has turned into a comedic asset. After graduation, Mintz secured his first professional writing position on Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers, and subsequently contributed to a string of innovative comedies including Last Call with Carson Daly, The Andy Milonakis Show, Human Giant, Lucky Louie, and Important Things with Demetri Martin. In addition to writing, Mintz pursued stand‑up, appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 2007 and delivering a televised set for Comedy Central Presents in 2008. His performance on Late Show with David Letterman in 2013 further expanded his audience, and the following year he recorded a comedy album, The Stranger, at Comedy Works in Denver, which was released through Comedy Central Records. His writing credits later extended to acclaimed series such as Veep, The Awesomes, and Mulaney, and he even penned the Bob’s Burgers episode “The Equestranauts.” Beyond the screen, Mintz resides in Los Angeles, California, where he married fellow comedian Margie Kment in 2011. The couple shares two children, and Mintz often credits his family for providing grounding balance to his hectic touring and writing schedule. With a career spanning over two decades, he remains a distinctive voice in contemporary comedy, celebrated for turning understated delivery into unforgettable humor.
