Clu Gulager, born as William Martin Gulager was an acclaimed American television and film actor and director. He was well recognized for his roles in the television series The Tall Man and The Virginian on NBC. Alongside, he also had a notable career in horror films and appeared in Dan O'Bannon's The Return of the Living Dead and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. In his later years, he was also seen acting in his son's horror films which included Feasts films and Piranha 3DD.
Gulager initiated his film career with a major role in Don Siegel's The Killers opposite Lee Marvin and Ronald Reagan. He has also been seen opposite Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward in Winning and John Wayne in McQ. In the 80s, he embraced horror films and became popular with works like The Initiation and The Return of the Living Dead. Afterward, he was also appreciated for his role in the horror film Feast and its sequels. However, his final appearance was in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Besides acting, Gulager also showcased his directorial skills via the short film A Day with the Boys that was nominated for the Palme d'Or for Best Short Film at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival.
