Cindy Morgan

Cindy Morgan, born Cynthia Ann Cichorski on September 29, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, emerged from a modest Midwestern upbringing into a memorable Hollywood career that spanned over four decades. The daughter of Polish and German immigrants, she first gained on‑air experience as a weather girl in Rockford and later as a night‑shift disc jockey, demonstrating an early comfort with live performance and a knack for connecting with audiences. After a brief stint deejaying at Chicago’s WSDM and an interlude working for Fiat Automobiles, she relocated to Los Angeles in 1978, where she honed her craft in acting workshops while appearing in Irish Spring soap television commercials. Her breakthrough arrived in 1980 when she portrayed the seductive Lacey Underall in Caddyshack, a role she later recalled as a liberating audition experience that taught her the power of focused intensity. This debut was quickly followed by a landmark performance in the 1982 sci‑fi classic Tron, where she uniquely inhabited two characters—computer programmer Lora Baines in the real world and her alter‑ego Yori within the digital realm—showcasing both her versatility and the film’s pioneering use of computer‑generated imagery. Beyond these iconic parts, Morgan built a diverse résumé that included recurring roles on the primetime soap Falcon Crest, guest appearances on series such as Matlock, The Larry Sanders Show, and CHiPs, and a co‑starring turn in Bring ’Em Back Alive. She also contributed as an associate producer on five Larry Estes films and lent her voice to the character Ma3a in the video game Tron 2.0 (2003). A dedicated philanthropist, she directed the 2006 Caddyshack Reunion Golf Tournament to support the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund, reflecting her personal connection to veterans through her father’s World War II service. In her later years, she resided in Florida, working on a memoir titled From Catholic School to Caddyshack before her unexpected death from natural causes on December 30, 2023 at age 69.
