Bryan Singer

Bryan Jay Singer (born September 16, 1965) is a prominent American filmmaker and the founder of Bad Hat Harry Productions. After graduating from the University of Southern California, Singer began his film career with a short film called Lion's Den in 1988. This auspicious start led to his full-length feature, Public Access in 1993, which co-won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1993 Sundance Film Festival. Singer achieved critical acclaim for directing the neo-noir crime thriller The Usual Suspects in 1995, and followed this with Apt Pupil, a thriller about a boy's fascination with a Nazi war criminal. Singer's career soared in the 2000s as he ventured into big-budget superhero films such as X-Men (2000, and its sequel, X2) and Superman Returns (2006). He also co-wrote and co-produced X-Men: First Class (2011) and directed X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). His involvement in the music biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) was marred by controversy and he was eventually fired during filming due to clashes with cast and crew. Singer has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct but remains an influential figure in the Hollywood landscape.
