Biff Wiff, born Gary Crotty on October 24, 1948, was an American actor whose career spanned nearly four decades, beginning with a small part in the 1986 television series The New Gidget. Although he remained largely a character actor, his relentless work ethic saw him appear in a wide array of popular shows such as Roseanne, Desperate Housewives, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, iCarly, and Brooklyn Nine‑Nine, often delivering memorable one‑liners that endeared him to both audiences and creators. His breakthrough arrived in 2021 when he delivered a profanity‑laden performance as a Santa Claus in the second season of the cult comedy series I Think You Should Leave, a role that earned him his first ever interview with Uproxx and catapulted him into a new level of recognition. He reprised his comedic chemistry in the third season’s “Shirt Brothers” skit, solidifying his reputation as a fearless comic talent. Following this surge, Wiff secured several notable supporting parts, including the quirky character Rick in the Oscar‑winning film Everything Everywhere All at Once and the straight‑laced Steve in the reality‑hoax sitcom Jury Duty. In 2023 he delivered his most screen‑time‑rich performance as the best friend of the protagonist in the indie film Self Reliance, and even appeared as a fictionalized version of himself in the third season of Dave.
