**Aml Ameen** _(/əˈmɛl əˈmiːn/)_ is a British actor and filmmaker, born 30 July 1985. Best known for a variety of diverse roles, including Trevor (Trife) in Kidulthood (2006), Malcolm Davies in Harry's Law, and Alby in The Maze Runner (2014). Ameen's first acting role was on ITV's police series 'The Bill' as PC Lewis Hardy. His character progression saw him undercover and shot, leading to Hardy's shift to Operation Trident. Moving beyond his British roots, Ameen made his Hollywood debut in George Lucas's Red Tails (2012). His performance as a young Jamaican named 'D' in Yardie (2018) further showcased his acting versatility. Ameen was born in London, England, to Jamaican and Vincentian parents and studied acting at the Barbara Speake Stage School. He showed promising signs early on, being part of the West End shows like Oliver! and Jolson. At the age of 11, he performed along with Michael Jackson at the 1996 BRIT Awards. His career expanded with guest appearances on BBC's EastEnders and Holby City. His influential work doesn't stop with acting - Ameen's debut as a director came in 2021 in the romantic comedy, Boxing Day. He was recognized as one of The Times newspaper's 'Ones To Watch' for 2006, and he received 'Best actor in a TV performance' at the 2007 Screen Nation Awards. He is also a voice in the industry, having featured in a BBC Radio 4 documentary titled 'My name Is Ricardo P Lloyd' in 2022.
