**Amitbhai Anilchandra Shah**, popularly known as **Amit Shah**, is an influential Indian politician currently serving as the 32nd Union Minister of Home Affairs and the first Minister of Co-operation. Born on 22nd October 1964, he has been a pillar in the Indian political landscape with his strategic and influential roles in the Bharatiya Janata Party. From 2014 to 2020, he served as the 10th president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Widely regarded for his tact and thorough understanding of the Indian political context, he has been instrumental in driving key initiatives and legislation changes at both state and national levels. For his distinguished contribution to Indian politics, he often draws comparison with Chanakya, the ancient Indian political strategist. In his college years, Shah was a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, laying the foundation for his political career. Over the years, his leadership and meticulous approach to politics have led to massive electoral victories in Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and many other states. Amit Shah is a close aide to Narendra Modi and was a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Naranpura from 2012 to 2017 and Sarkhej from 1997 to 2012. Before his tenure as the Union Minister, he was in charge of various security affirming departments such as Border Security, Civil Defence, and Home Guards. In recent times, he has been an archetypal figure in the passing of contentious legislation like the abrogation of Article 370 and the introduction of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in 2019.
