Aida Turturro

**Aida Turturro** (born September 25, 1962) is an accomplished American actress flourishing within the robust acting industry. She gained recognition mainly for her stellar performance of Janice Soprano on the critically acclaimed HBO drama series, The Sopranos. Born and bred in New York City, Turturro aspired to make her mark in the acting world. Her initial formative steps in the field were marked by her earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from the prestigious State University of New York at New Paltz. She embarked on her acting journey with the film True Love in 1989 and subsequently appeared in films such as What About Bob?, Jersey Girl, Illuminata, Sleepers, and Deep Blue Sea, demonstrating a diverse acting range. She gained significant roles in television as well, most notably appearing as Janice Soprano in 49 episodes of The Sopranos, for which she received two nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Her other TV appearances include the CBS series Medium, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nurse Jackie, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
