Aaron Pedersen

**Aaron Pedersen** is a renowned Aboriginal Australian television and film actor, active since 1993. Born on 24th November 1970, he has made a noteworthy impact in the acting industry, and is well recognized for his unique roles. He has played notable roles, particularly as Detective Jay Swan in Mystery Road (2013), its sequel Goldstone (2016), and spin-off television series (2018–2020). Over the course of his career, he has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2021 AACTA Award for International Award for Best Actor in a Series. _Of Arrernte and Arabana descent_, Pedersen spent his early years in Alice Springs, where he along with his seven siblings were raised. Following stints in foster homes away from their alcoholic mother, Pedersen stepped up to care for his brother, Vinnie, who has cerebral palsy and a mild intellectual disability. He has had consistent roles in several TV series including The Circuit, City Homicide, Jack Irish series, and Australia Remastered.
