Thomas embarks on a journey from Italy to the arid landscape of Almeria, yearning for the solitude where he can reflect deeply on the cherished book that holds a special place in his heart. As he rides away on his Harley Davidson, he unexpectedly comes to the aid of a young woman named Lucia Cannarozzo, who is on the run from a couple of unsavory characters after pilfering their money.

Though Thomas treasures his independence, Lucia’s determination and vibrant spirit pique his curiosity, and before long, they find themselves traveling together.

Throughout their adventure, a multitude of misfortunes arise, with many of them stemming from Lucia’s chaotic nature. It soon becomes apparent to Thomas that she carries her own burdens, leaving him conflicted about whether to assist her in her struggles, or to resume his solitary journey as he had initially planned.

However, Thomas is also grappling with his own internal dilemmas, searching for that elusive spark or sense of purpose that has been absent from his life. He holds a subtle suspicion that Lucia’s companionship might just lead him to the answers he seeks.

Eventually, Thomas parts ways with Lucia as he drops her off to meet her aunt—a character whose existence appears questionable, considering Lucia’s flair for imaginative storytelling. Following their separation, Thomas completes the journey to his destination, eager for self-exploration. Yet, he soon discovers that the experience is not as fulfilling as he anticipated. Just when he thinks he’s alone in his quest, he awakens one morning to find Lucia has joined him, resting peacefully in the shed adjacent to his lodgings.

Their time at the desert retreat continues, marked by interruptions that are often a reflection of Lucia’s inner conflict.
