Inspector NT Rama Rao plays Ranjith Kumar, a principled police officer who vows to defend the nation’s integrity and sovereignty, even when danger interrupts his path. In a daring strand of heroism, he captures ruthless brigands and is wounded in the line of duty, a moment that coincides with the birth of a baby boy to his wife Annapurna. Belief in astrology, held strongly by Annapurna’s father, foretells a grim fate tied to the child, so he isolates the infant with a maid named Gauri and even fakes Ranjith’s death to shield him. Yet this act of fear gives way to a life of public service, and Ranjith earns the Gold Medal, celebrated as Kondaveeti Simham, while the family greets a second son, Ravi, whose childhood turns turbulent as Ranjith, unaware of Annapurna’s knowledge, sends him to a juvenile home.

Years slip by and Ranjith rises to the rank of SP, while his elder son Ramu grows up in a village, crossing paths with Devi, the daughter of Major Gopalam. Sridevi brings Devi to life as their relationship begins with quarrels that soon blossom into affection. Ramu aims to lift his family out of debt and, with Gopalam’s support, launches a business in the city. At home, Ravi remains a volatile presence, harboring hostility toward his father, and he marries Padma, a union that reshapes the family dynamics. The danger in their world deepens as Nagaraju, a virulent gangster, is released and schemes to strike at Ranjith’s clan.

Meanwhile, Ravi engineers a heist at Gopalam’s residence and falsely implicates Ramu, drawing a sharp clash with his father. Rao Gopal Rao and others in the family circle watch as Ranjith acts with tactical precision to seize the culprit, yet the overlord Nagaraju persists, using Ravi as a pawn to destabilize the Ranjith household. Ravaged by fear and revenge, Annapurna collapses into illness, paralyzed and then dying, as Gauri reveals the crucial birth secret of Ramu, a revelation that urges a pivotal transformation in the family.

Before her death, Annapurna’s memory lingers in the family. Ramu, speaking through his fading strength, asks Gauri to push Ravi toward reform, a plea that Ravi stubbornly resists, even skipping Annapurna’s funeral while Ramu attends. A new mission arrives: Ranjith is assigned a special task to safeguard a national security plan, one that Nagaraju is eager to seize. Mohan Babu as Ravi and Geetha as Padma, among others, play their parts as the plot tightens toward confrontation. To counter the threat, Ramu volunteers to align with Ranjith’s cause, and together they attempt to reveal Nagaraju’s scheming, but they are captured by the criminals.

As the veil lifts, Ranjith exposes the truth and, driven by duty, presses forward with renewed resolve. In a final, climactic struggle, the veteran officer stops the baddies but pays the ultimate price, sacrificing his life to secure the national plan. The film closes by honoring the bravery of police officers, a tribute that cements Ranjith’s legacy as a guardian of the nation. Across the family’s trials and loyalties—Ramu’s ambition, Ravi’s rebellion, Devi’s quiet support, and Gopalam’s steadfast guidance—the story remains a steadfast chronicle of courage, duty, and sacrifice.
