What’s After the Movie tells the story of John Abraham, who plays Siddharth “Sid,” a man living in London, whose life takes an unexpected turn after a series of life-saving phone calls. His genuine concern and compassion begin to have a significant impact as he responds to numerous distress calls, earning praise from his friend Raghu Ram, who is impressed by Sid’s dedication and efforts.

One night, Sid receives a distressing call from a girl on the verge of swallowing sleeping pills. Sid pleads with her to stay on the line, and they end up talking for nearly 16 hours. During this conversation, she reveals herself to be Mishka, played by Paakhi A. Tyrewala, who prefers to be called Fidato in their digital exchanges. Mishka is struggling with a painful breakup, feeling betrayed by her ex-boyfriend Kabir, played by Madhavan, who cheated on her. She confides in Sid about her lingering love for him and her desire to rekindle their relationship.

As their conversations become a daily ritual, Mishka, a college-educated woman and an aspiring singer, begins to develop feelings for Sid. Their bond deepens, especially after Mishka visits Sid’s bookstore, leading to awkward but meaningful moments that hint at their growing affection. Despite her affection for Sid, Mishka’s impatience grows when her then-boyfriend Krutika, an air hostess, confronts her about Sid, creating tension in their budding relationship.

Sid’s friendship with Mishka intensifies, with frequent calls and meetups, and eventually, Sid invites her for a casual coffee outing. Though hesitant at first, Mishka agrees, and their connection blossoms into love. This new happiness faces challenges when Mishka’s ex, Kabir, returns and tries to reconnect, leading to a confrontation that leaves Mishka devastated, feeling torn between her old love and her new feelings for Sid.

A turning point occurs at a lively party where Sid and Mishka encounter Kabir again. Sid openly admits to Mishka that he is in love with her. [Fidato] then decides to remain Sid, abandoning his virtual identity to genuinely pursue the woman he loves. However, just as things seem to stabilize, Sid receives a critical call about a teenager named Ankur, who has attempted suicide after consuming sleeping pills. Sid, using his quick thinking, helps locate Ankur and urges Mishka to call emergency services to save him. The rescue is successful, but it marks a realization for Mishka about the importance of real-life connections and love.

Meanwhile, Mishka’s ex Kabir experiences a tragic accident, and she learns he has been hospitalized, pleading for her forgiveness. Their reconciliation is short-lived as Mishka begins to see that her true happiness lies with Sid. Her realization peaks during a drive to the airport, where she notices how much Sid’s presence has revived her zest for life. Kabir, desperate to reclaim her, tries to persuade her to stay with him, but Mishka decides to go back to Sid.

In an emotional climax, Mishka calls Sid in a last-minute plea, giving him just ten minutes to reach her. Sid races against time, facing various obstacles, and finally arrives in the nick of time, stopping Mishka from making a tragic mistake.
