Hoping to increase their monthly income, he takes a gamble by borrowing ₹1 crore on the advice of his colleague, Arjun “Leg”, and invests the money in a potentially lucrative venture.

In an unexpected turn, Shakthivel’s family arranges a meeting with Shivani, an Indo-American woman, without informing him first. Seeing the dire circumstances, Shivani decides to work outside the home to contribute to the family’s income. Meanwhile, Shakthivel traces Arjun “Leg” and confronts him about the missing funds. His investigation points him toward Punniyakodi, the owner of a fraudulent chit fund. When Punniyakodi threatens him and refuses to return the money, Shakthivel files a police complaint. His situation takes a distressing turn when he faints on the road and is rescued by a sanitary worker. Interactions with this worker and a witty child in a temple help Shakthivel realize that his obsession with money had blinded him to the importance of relationships and family.
