Shiva, Gopichand, is a carefree, impulsive young man who leans on his father, Narasimha Murthy, for every expense. He loses his job in Singapore after clashing with a local goon over a bridge project. When his boss demands an apology, Shiva refuses, vowing never to bow to the wrong person, and he is fired. Later, he reveals that the dramatic scene was staged so he could be dismissed because he misses his family. Murthy is upset by the news, and the tension between father and son grows as Shiva’s unemployment becomes an ongoing issue.

Due to Murthy’s transfer, the family leaves Mumbai and moves to a city ruled by a local don named Kasi. At this point, Shiva’s grandmother, Rama Prabha, warns him to stay cautious in a place where power and ego drive many people to fear and violence. We learn that Kasi has an enormous ego and has even harmed others to make a point about his authority. The city itself feels tense under Kasi’s shadow, and Shiva must navigate a world where pride and intimidation trump dialogue.

At a wedding, Shiva spots Nayana, Nayanthara, and is instantly drawn to her. Nayana’s work life, she tells him, is exhausting—her boss overworks her and takes all the credit. In a bold move, Shiva intervenes by slapping her boss in a bar, and then, posing as Nayana’s boyfriend, he inadvertently causes her to be fired. The encounter leaves Nayana distraught but curious about Shiva, who tells her that life is beautiful and worth enjoying. When she confronts her boss in front of his house, the boss reveals that it was Shiva who caused the unemployment, admitting it was a calculated gesture to make Nayana spend time with him. Nayana responds with a demand: Shiva must cover all her expenses until she finds another job.

Meanwhile, Kasi approaches Murthy with an ultimatum to hand over the house. Murthy refuses, and Kasi gives him 30 days to reconsider, threatening consequences if he doesn’t comply. In a show of defiance, Shiva brings firecrackers to the children in Nayana’s apartment complex, insisting that Diwali be celebrated despite Kasi’s orders linked to a court hearing. The confrontation with Kasi’s goons is narrowly avoided when Shiva cleverly declares that Kasi’s brother has been released, allowing the children to celebrate. This act earns Shiva some respect from Nayana, and she grows more drawn to him.

Murthy warns Nayana that Shiva isn’t ready for marriage because he doesn’t yet bear his responsibilities, but Nayana pushes back, later telling Shiva to step up and stop letting his family be dismissed. Shiva asserts that his family is everything to him, and he refuses to walk away.

Seeking independence, Shiva asks his grandmother to deed him her property to start his construction company, his lifelong dream. A brutal brawl leaves Shiva’s grandmother injured, and Murthy lashes out, throwing Shiva out of the house. Kasi arrives and assaults Murthy for not handing over the property, but Shiva intervenes and defeats Kasi in front of the entire community, rekindling Murthy’s pride in his son. Murthy, now encouraged, advises Shiva to reconcile with Nayana, who was the one person who stood by him when no one else did.

Kasi’s brother arrives with more threats, and Shiva overwhelms them, sending a clear message that the city’s people can stand up to the goons. Nayana and Shiva become engaged, and the two begin to plan a future together. Kasi retaliates by attacking Shiva’s family, but Shiva arrives in time to protect them; in the scuffle, one goon is seriously injured, and the police warn that if the goon dies, Shiva will face jail time.

Facing further danger, Murthy goes to Kasi with the house documents, ready to cut a deal to keep his family safe. Kasi insists that Shiva must apologize publicly, and Murthy convinces Shiva to do so. Reluctantly, Shiva goes to Kasi and offers an apology in front of witnesses, hoping to preserve peace. But Kasi, desperate to secure his grip, visits the hospital and murders the injured goon, hoping to pin the blame on Shiva. The goon’s wife publicly testifies that Kasi killed her husband while Murthy was caring for them, turning the tide against Kasi and his men.

With Kasi exposed, Murthy refuses to shield his son any longer, declaring that if he stops his son now, he will fail as a father forever, and he ejects Kasi from their lives. The city begins to stand up to Kasi and his brother, and Shiva presses the fight to its conclusion. In a final showdown, Shiva defeats Kasi and his brother, and the community learns to resist the influence of the powerful.

The film closes with a triumphant Diwali celebration: Shiva, Nayanthara as Nayana, and his family celebrate in their ancestral home, marking a new chapter where love, responsibility, and courage redefine the meaning of family and safety in their city. The story remains a testament to choosing to stand up for what is right, even when the odds are stacked against you, and it highlights the importance of family bonds in guiding brave, principled action.
