Check out what happened in Zoolander 2!

As the Fashion Division at Interpol scrutinizes a series of enigmatic selfies left behind by deceased celebrities, including Demi Lovato, Usher, Lenny Kravitz, and Ninja from Die Antwoord, all of whom flashed a hauntingly familiar gaze before meeting their untimely demise - "Blue Steel" being the unmistakable signature move that preceded each tragic event. Agent Valentina Valencia (Penelope Cruz) is convinced that only one individual possesses the understanding to unravel the cryptic significance behind these morbid mementos, but after years of absence, his whereabouts remain a mystery.

A flashback montage unfolds, revealing the precipitous downfall of Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), once the most sought-after male model in the industry. Following the collapse of The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too - constructed with identical materials used for its miniature prototype, a calamity that claimed the life of his wife Matilda (Christine Taylor) and disfigured his best friend Hansel's (Owen Wilson) modeling career, leaving Hansel's prospects in tatters. Derek is left to pick up the pieces, struggling to cope with the loss and navigating a world that has moved on without him.

As he attempts to rebuild his life, Derek announces his retirement from modeling to pursue a new existence as a hermit crab, retreating to a remote cabin in New Jersey where the biting cold becomes an acceptable substitute for the warmth of human connection. His solitude is unexpectedly disrupted by Billy Zane's visitation, bearing an invitation from fashion icon Alexanya Atoz (Kristen Wiig) and Don Atari (Kyle Mooney), urging Derek to re-emerge on the runway in Rome.

Meanwhile, Hansel has been eking out a desolate existence in the arid expanse of "Uncharted Malibu Territories," surrounded by an assortment of strangers he's come to call his "orgy." His world is turned upside down when he discovers that every member of this unconventional tribe - including Kiefer Sutherland - is pregnant, their collective fear and uncertainty sparked by the very concept of parenthood. Hansel's existential crisis prompts him to abandon ship, stumbling into Billy's path, who then presents him with Alexanya's invitation, an offer he can't refuse if it means reuniting with his estranged son, Derek Jr.

As Derek and Hansel find themselves reunited in Rome's vibrant streets, Hansel's lingering resentment towards Derek for ruining his career simmers just beneath the surface. Their tumultuous reunion is orchestrated by VIP, an enigmatic individual with the wisdom of a sage and the appearance of a precocious youngster (Fred Armisen). This peculiar guide escorts them to the location of the fashion show, where they are introduced to Don Atari, a self-proclaimed hipster with a penchant for all things obscure. The duo also encounters All, an enigmatic fashion icon whose gender remains shrouded in mystery, leaving Derek and Hansel perplexed (Benedict Cumberbatch).

The two models are subsequently thrust into the midst of Atari's eccentric fashion show, where they're forced to don garish red jumpsuits emblazoned with the words "Old" and "Lame." Just as things can't get any more humiliating, All descends from the ceiling in a demonic ensemble, whipping Derek and Hansel before unleashing a torrent of prunes upon them. Mortified, they beat a hasty retreat until they're approached by Valentina, who extends an offer to join forces with Interpol to unravel the mystery surrounding the beautiful people's demise. She also promises to aid Derek in his quest to locate his son.

At Interpol headquarters, Valentina presents Derek and Hansel with a series of unsettling selfies featuring deceased celebrities, asking if they're all, in fact, "Blue Steel." Derek delves into the nuances of his various looks, explaining that each one possesses subtle variations that set them apart (chiefly the manner in which he raises his eyebrows). This revelation leads him to draw parallels between their current predicament and a bizarre water ad featuring Naomi Campbell, titled Aqua Vitae. As the computer deciphers the phrase, it reveals that "Aqua Vitae" translates to "fountain of youth." Valentina also locates DJ, informing them that he resides in an orphanage situated right in the heart of Rome.

Derek and Hansel make their way to the orphanage, where they're met with a group of children engaged in a rousing game of soccer. Derek's attention is drawn to one young boy whose hair bears a striking resemblance to his own. Convinced that this might be DJ, he approaches the field, only to discover that a chubby-cheeked youngster (Cyrus Arnold) is, in fact, their son. Horrified by the revelation, Derek is torn between abandoning his parental responsibilities and Hansel's encouraging words urging him to reconnect with their child.

As Derek gazes into the fountain, he's visited by a vision of Matilda, who implores him to prioritize his relationship with their son while keeping a watchful eye out for the true identity of the orphanage's enigmatic headmaster - none other than the diabolical Evil Breakdancing DJ (Justin Theroux), masquerading behind a wig that only fools someone as naive as Derek.

As the gelato-filled evening descends into chaos, Derek's (misguided) attempt at capturing a selfie while driving sends DJ's car careening violently across the street. Fearing for her life, DJ flees in a cab, condemning Derek to a solitary vigil outside the orphanage. Meanwhile, Hansel stumbles upon a decadent orgy, where Christina Hendricks, Susan Sarandon, Ariana Grande (bound and gagged), and an unexpected baby hippo converge. The discovery of this wanton gathering leaves Kiefer heartbroken, prompting Hansel to ascend to the rooftop in search of answers, mirroring Derek's existential crisis across the street, accompanied by Katy Perry and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

The trio reunites with Valentina, who implores them to join her on a quest for truth. Their journey takes them to Sting's abode, where they uncover the ancient tale of Adam, Eve, and Steve – humanity's first male model, whose unparalleled beauty was said to be so captivating that any body of water reflecting his visage would shatter under its potency. It is whispered that Steve's descendants have been hunted throughout history to obtain the eternal beauty granted by the Fountain of Youth, with DJ revealed as the last living heir.

As they return to the orphanage, they find it eerily abandoned. Derek's intuition awakens to the realization that the enigmatic headmaster was, in fact, the diabolical Evil DJ – a revelation that ultimately exposes Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell) as the true mastermind behind the mayhem.

Mugatu, imprisoned within a high-security fashion facility alongside notorious fashion offenders like MC Hammer and John Malkovich, manages to deceive Derek into switching places with him. With his arms restrained by chains, Mugatu effortlessly escapes, exploiting the incompetence of his captors – an army of idiot male models.

The escaped Mugatu converges with Alexanya at the House of Atoz, where Don Atari awaits. However, after enduring the latter's inane prattling, Mugatu delivers a fatal blow to Don Atari's neck using his feet. Unbeknownst to him, Hansel has been tracking his every move, gathering crucial intel and reporting back to Valentina, who has successfully freed Derek.

Together, the reunited duo embarks on a perilous underwater journey, hurtling through the depths of Rome like torpedoes in pursuit of their next move against Mugatu.

As DJ languished in captivity, his captor Mugatu's sinister intentions became all too clear. For years, he had been manipulating the boy, deliberately fattening him up to prepare for this momentous occasion. But just as the fashion mogul was about to unleash his dark plan, Hansel burst into the room, bearing a message of hope and redemption. DJ's father, it seemed, was on his way, driven by love and a desire to be reunited with his long-lost son.

Meanwhile, at the site of the impending sacrifice, a veritable Who's Who of fashion royalty had gathered to bear witness to Mugatu's twisted ritual. Tommy Hilfiger, Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs, and Alexander Wang mingled among the throng, oblivious to the horror that was about to unfold.

As Mugatu prepared to make his gruesome offering, a trio of heroes burst onto the scene, determined to put a stop to his nefarious plans. But just as it seemed that DJ was doomed, Mugatu's true intentions were revealed: he had no interest in the mythical Fountain of Youth, but rather sought revenge against those who had wronged him throughout his career.

The fashion mogul's hatred for Derek knew no bounds, and he hurled his ceremonial knife with deadly precision. But once again, Derek proved equal to the task, using his "Magnum" to deflect the blade - only for it to glance off his cheek and leave a gash in its wake.

As the tension mounted, Alexanya burst into the fray, her intentions unclear. It wasn't until she revealed herself as Mugatu's accomplice, Katinka (Milla Jovovich), that the full extent of their treachery became apparent. The two women engaged in a sultry battle that left even the most stoic onlookers agog.

But just as all hope seemed lost, Mugatu dropped a bombshell - literally. A pool of lava yawned open beneath them, and a countdown began, threatening to engulf everyone in its fiery depths. In a stunning revelation, it emerged that Mugatu's company had been responsible for the tragic events at Matilda's reading center, a tragedy that had claimed the life of the young girl.

As the heroes struggled to contain the chaos, DJ suddenly found his inner strength and unleashed "El Nino", a force so powerful that even the most skeptical onlookers were left awestruck. In a stunning display of teamwork, DJ, Derek, and Hansel combined their energies to hurl the bomb back at Mugatu, detonating it with devastating effect and sending confetti raining down upon the wreckage.

As Derek and Valentina's mutual attraction finally gives way, it marks a turning point for both characters. The lingering presence of Matilda's ghost proves to be a blessing in disguise, as she grants her approval and clears the way for Derek to move forward with his newfound love. Moreover, Matilda's supernatural intervention has an unexpected consequence: Mugatu's live-streaming of the event sends shockwaves around the globe, catapulting Derek and Hansel back into the spotlight. The modeling duo's excitement is palpable as they throw a lavish "lava pool party," reveling in their revitalized fame.

The epilogue unfolds with a sense of closure and new beginnings. Following their lava treatments, Derek and Hansel emerge with their facial scars a distant memory. They make a triumphant return to the world of high fashion, where they continue to thrive as a dynamic duo. As Derek and Valentina exchange vows and start a family, their daughter inherits her parents' flair for style, forging her own unique aesthetic. The couple also establishes a groundbreaking initiative, providing a platform for young girls who aspire to be models yet desire to pursue careers in law enforcement. Meanwhile, Hansel assumes the role of patriarch to an unconventional family – a sprawling, loving community that celebrates individuality and acceptance.

In a separate development, DJ's meteoric rise as a plus-size model propels her to international stardom. She shares a high-profile romance with Malala Yousafzai, solidifying their status as a powerhouse couple in the public eye.
