The premise of Tosca without spoilers.

A stellar cast animates Puccini’s dramatic opera. Luciano Pavarotti sings the revolutionary painter Cavaradossi, passionately in love with the famed singer Tosca, portrayed by Shirley Verrett. Cornell MacNeil embodies the ruthless chief of police Baron Scarpia, who underestimates Tosca’s fury. Conducted by James Conlon and staged by Tito Gobbi, the production delivers the opera’s torture, murder and suicide with powerful intensity.
