What Is Time About?

Set against apartheid South Africa, the story follows a young girl who escapes after her father is killed in a violent clash with a white landowner. She finds refuge in Abidjan, and ten years later, as a university student, she studies the Tuareg people on the Sahara’s edge before ultimately returning to a post‑apartheid South Africa.
