In a distant sector of the galaxy, a scientific spacecraft from Earth, the Pole, makes an emergency landing on an uninhabited world when a radiation leak forces the crew to abandon ship. Left behind are crucial supplies like food and weapons, and what follows is a quiet, stubborn struggle to endure. For 17 long years, the survivors carve out a new life far from the wreck, building a settlement with makeshift tools, learning to hunt the local predators, and fending off the planet’s harsh conditions with whatever basic weapons they can cobble together. The tale centers on a boy named Oleg, born after the crash, who grows up with memories of only the settlement and the strange, fragile peace they’ve forged.

When a fresh expedition is organized to retrieve more supplies from the Pole, Oleg joins with two friends, Dick and Mariana, stepping out under the watchful eye of an elder who guides their journey. The path is perilous: they come across remnants of previous expeditions and run into obstacles that test their resolve at every turn. The voyage becomes a test of courage, teamwork, and sacrifice, especially when the elder sacrifices himself to save Oleg, leaving the three youths to press onward on their own.
