What Is The Geography of the Body About?

The premise of The Geography of the Body without spoilers.

Opening with Aristophanes’ line “The desire and pursuit of the whole is called love,” the film shows close‑ups of a man and woman. A voice recites fragments of oracular literature as the camera lingers on eyes, hair and hands, sometimes widening to a chest or back. The camera stays mostly still, gliding across skin, and the two clasp hands, no genitalia visible.
