Spoilers ahead
Eight months after former police officer Durai Singam Suriya had taken down the extortionist Mayil Vaaganam, Singam publicly resigns his job as ordered by Home Minister Ramnathan Vijayakumar to quietly pursue a new threat: weapon smuggling on the coasts of Thoothikudi. The move sets a tense tone as he steps away from the formal badge to pursue a more elusive form of justice, trusting his instincts and the memories of his military training to guide him. That night, Singam spots a smuggler named Saghayam Rajendran and reports the activity to the police, only to discover that the local inspector is secretly in league with the smugglers and betrays him, leaking his position.
