Spoilers ahead
The narrative begins in a remote cabin nestled in the rugged terrain of the American Old West. A violent entrance shatters the tranquility as a gunman bursts through the door and opens fire on a man sleeping inside. Emmett, portrayed by Scott Glenn, swiftly reacts, grabbing his pistol and firing back, eliminating his would-be assassin. As gunfire echoes, Emmett continues defending himself and further dispatches another attacker lurking outside. With his revolver now empty, he cleverly tosses it at a wood-burning stove to distract a shooter on the roof, allowing him the chance to grab his Winchester rifle. A shot rings out, striking the roof shooter, who then crashes through the ceiling into the cabin.
