
Rafferty, a down‑on‑his‑luck driving instructor and former Gunnery Sergeant squatting in squalor near Hollywood, is reluctantly pulled into a bizarre road trip when two women hitch a ride and try to kidnap him to reach New Orleans. Though initially wary, he grows fond of the eccentric duo, and the trio winds up on a winding drive through Las Vegas and on to Tucson, where their uneasy alliance finally falls apart.
