As a young boy, Noah witnesses a traumatic event—the murder of his father, Lamech, by the vengeful Tubal-Cain. Fast forward many years, and an adult Noah, portrayed by Russell Crowe, lives a simple yet complex life with his devoted wife, Naameh, brought to life by Jennifer Connelly, and their three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Noah is plagued by troubling visions of an impending flood and is compelled to seek guidance from his grandfather, Methuselah, played by Anthony Hopkins.

On their journey, Noah’s family encounters a scene of devastation where they rescue a girl named Ila, portrayed by Emma Watson. Their quest for safety becomes fraught with danger as they are pursued by Tubal-Cain and his merciless band of followers. In a surprising twist, they find sanctuary with fallen angels known as the “Watchers,” once stone Golems (Nephilim) punished for their past transgressions in the Garden of Eden. The intricate backstory reveals the Watchers’ ties to Cain, Abel, and Seth—the sons of Adam and Eve—highlighting a world caught in the balance between purity and corruption.

Gifted a sacred seed from Eden by Methuselah, Noah plants it, setting in motion a series of miraculous events. As a lush forest bursts forth overnight, the Watchers, witnessing this divine sign, offer their aid in building the Ark. Their collaboration results in an incredible feat of construction that prepares them for the trials ahead.

But the peace is short-lived. As the Ark nears completion, Tubal-Cain confronts Noah, challenging his purpose and beliefs. Noah’s defiance makes it clear that he sees Tubal-Cain’s lineage as beyond redemption. In the chaos, the animal pairs respond to the Ark’s call, tranquilized by incense, as Noah struggles with his faith and the potential extinction of humanity.

As rain begins to fall, the tension escalates. Tubal-Cain’s desperation turns to fury, prompting a rush to the Ark by his followers. In a heart-wrenching moment, Noah must choose between his son Ham and a young girl, Na’El, caught in peril. Although Noah’s family enters the Ark, Methuselah deliberately remains behind, meeting his fate in the furious waters.

The flood unleashes its devastating power, and the Watchers heroically defend the Ark, sacrificing themselves for their redemption, and finally ascending to the heavens. Amidst the turmoil, Tubal-Cain uses Ham’s resentment to incite rebellion against Noah, leading to an intense confrontation that tests the very fabric of familial bonds.

Months pass as Noah departs into isolation, grappling with guilt and despair, even as Ila gives birth to twin girls. A pivotal moment arrives when Noah, driven by a misinterpretation of signs from the Creator, confronts the horrific decision of sacrificing his granddaughters. However, he ultimately spares them, realizing love transcends his fears.

As the floodwaters recede, Noah confronts his demons in a cave, succumbing to drink—a stark contrast to the noble leader he sought to be. In a bittersweet reunion, his sons find him adrift in his shame. Ham, feeling the weight of his choices, chooses a path of solitude. Yet, from this turmoil, a new dawn emerges. In a moment of reconciliation, Noah blesses his family, heralding a fresh beginning for humanity under an expansive rainbow, symbolizing hope and renewal.
