After concluding his service in the Navy, Admiral Theodore McKee finds himself summoned back to duty by the White House, a call that he never anticipated. With resolve, McKee slips into his uniform once again, stepping into a pivotal role within the newly established Office of Homeland Security (OHS) under the guidance of Tom Ridge.

As the horrific news of the hijacked planes surfaces, both McKee and his wife are plunged into anguish, forever impacted by the day’s tragic reality.

In the sky, Melissa finds herself in a life-altering ordeal as her flight is caught in a tension-filled incident amidst the chaos. After the Pentagon attack, military operatives issue a harrowing protocol: any plane straying from its path is to be intercepted with extreme measures. A suspenseful sequence unfolds as three fighter jets close in on her aircraft, causing alarms to blare as near-collision scenarios arise. The airplane’s pilot hesitates at a critical juncture, standing on the brink of deploying a lethal counteraction before the flight crew, in a moment of clarity, complies with visual commands. Ultimately, the fighter pilot is instructed to release the threat and safely escort the plane to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, where Melissa seeks answers amid a sea of confusion and fear. Grasping a payphone, her trembling voice echoes her desperation as she queries, > “Who is doing this to us?” These poignant words foreshadow the trauma to come as the world spirals into disarray and unpredictability.
