A group of six youngsters, including May Winnie Leung Man-Yee, heads to Lantau Island for a relaxed holiday in a vacation villa. At first, the manor seems to deliver on their expectations, offering a peaceful escape and a chance to unwind together. But once they step inside, the mood shifts dramatically, and the house feels less like a getaway and more like a place with a mind of its own.

Among them, Big Bully Jordan Chan Siu-Chun possesses a chilling gift: the ability to see ghosts and spirits, and he senses danger closing in long before anyone else does. Tragically, before he can warn his friends, he is found dead in his room, leaving the group stunned and frightened. The atmosphere thickens with fear as an eerie sense of inevitability settles over the villa.

Desperation pushes some of them to leave, but the roads that should lead away from the property keep looping back to the house, and the neighboring houses seem to vanish in a inexplicable manner. With escape seemingly blocked, the five remaining youths resign themselves to spending the night in the haunted villa. Soon after, they receive ominous messages on their pagers—cryptic warnings that they will die at different times, a cruel countdown that fills every moment with dread.

The house appears to come alive, bending the rules of reality as rooms shift and doors close on their own. Over the course of the night, the group becomes fractured; the five are separated, and four of them fall prey to a charcoal demon that stalks the shadows with a merciless grip. The last survivor, Gabriel Joey Man Yee-Man, encounters the spirit of Big Bully—her boyfriend—and together they attempt to unravel the mystery that binds the house to their fate. Their uneasy partnership becomes a beacon of hope as dawn approaches, with Gabriel managing to cling to life long enough to reach the mainland by ferry. Yet the voyage home is a haunting echo of what they have endured, because she overhears fellow passengers discussing the incident, and the encounter shakes her to the core.

When the truth finally surfaces in a newspaper report, the chilling realization dawns: all six have been found dead, and the demon that haunted the villa has claimed one last victim in Gabriel. The haunting leaves behind no easy answers, only a sobering reminder of how fear can imprison the living and blur the lines between the supernatural and the human world.
