An unknown man commits suicide by drinking bleach. After his death, his body is possessed by a being who proclaims itself to be Bailey, an alien who says he destroys polluted worlds. About a month later, a road-trip group headed to Las Vegas for a wedding stops to pick up Bailey, who claims his car has broken down. The group includes Wilma Diane Defoe Fernbacker.
Bailey shoots the others in the car and abducts Eve Bendibuckle, Samantha Phillips Bendibuckle, deciding to postpone Earth’s destruction until they can have sexual relations.
Eve suspects Bailey may be an escaped mental patient, a belief that deepens when Bailey’s supposed therapist Brick arrives, though Brick also claims to be an alien sent to Earth to destroy all humans and cleanse the planet.
