As tensions rise within the U.S. government over the precarious state of the nation's avocado supply, the enigmatic "Piranha" tribe of cannibal women, dwelling in the mystifying "Avocado Jungle," begins to wreak havoc. This tribe, notorious for their ritualistic slaughter and consumption of men, has caught the attention of Professor Margo Hunt (Tweed), a renowned expert in feminist studies at Spritzer College, who is recruited by the government to establish a connection with these formidable women. Accompanied by Jim (Maher), a chauvinist guide, and Bunny (Karen Mistal), an endearingly naive undergraduate, Dr. Hunt embarks on a perilous journey into the heart of the Avocado Jungle.

As they venture deeper into the jungle, the trio encounters the "Donnahew" tribe, a subservient group of men who live in the shadow of their Piranha counterparts. However, their path is fraught with danger, and they soon find themselves face-to-face with the very women they had hoped to contact. The Piranha women, now under the leadership of Dr. Kurtz (Adrienne Barbeau), a former colleague turned nemesis, are determined to maintain their hold on the jungle.

Dr. Hunt's arrival sparks a heated debate about the morality of sacrificing men and the exploitation of the Piranha women. Meanwhile, Bunny becomes increasingly enthralled by the tribe's customs and eventually decides to join them, with Jim being her first "sacrifice." However, she is unable to go through with the killing, and Dr. Hunt must escape the clutches of the Piranha women with the help of Jean-Pierre (Brett Stimely), a handsome and intelligent ally who had also been marked for sacrifice.

As Dr. Hunt navigates the treacherous landscape, she discovers another tribe of cannibal women, the Barracuda Women, locked in a bitter struggle with the Piranha women over the most appropriate condiment to accompany their sacrificial meals. With this newfound knowledge, Dr. Hunt returns to the Piranha stronghold and rescues Bunny, Jim, and Jean-Pierre.

The stage is set for a thrilling showdown between Dr. Hunt and Kurtz, as they engage in a fierce duel that will determine supremacy. As they clash with various weapons, Dr. Hunt ultimately impales Kurtz with a fencing sword. In her final moments, Kurtz reveals her true motives to Dr. Hunt: after ruling the Piranha tribe, she is now forever trapped in this primitive world and cannot return to civilization or the talk-show circuit. With a sense of tragic irony, Kurtz meets her demise by leaping into a pit filled with water and piranha fish.

As the true extent of the government's sinister plan to tame the Piranha women through a regimen of aerobics classes and indulgence in cosmopolitan culture is laid bare before her, Dr. Hunt (character name) refuses to compromise her values by bringing these newly awakened individuals along with her, opting instead to facilitate an unprecedented alliance between the warring cannibal tribes. Through a series of consciousness-raising group sessions, she successfully bridges the divide between these erstwhile enemies, fostering a lasting peace that is as remarkable as it is unexpected.

Meanwhile, the romantic entanglements of Dr. Hunt's colleagues are reaching a triumphant climax. Bunny and Jim are set to tie the knot in a joyous celebration of their love, while Jean-Pierre, inspired by the professor's dedication to feminist studies, has made the bold decision to enroll at her university, embarking on a journey that will transform him into the perfect intellectual companion for Dr. Hunt. As the film draws to a close, it becomes clear that this unlikely trio has emerged stronger and more united than ever before, their bond forged in the crucible of adventure and adversity.
