John McNaughton

John McNaughton (born January 13, 1950) is a renowned American film and television director, hailing from Chicago, Illinois. McNaughton's repertoire spans across a variety of genres, masterfully crafting narratives within horror, thriller, drama and comedy. His landmark films include Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), The Borrower (1991), Mad Dog and Glory (1993), Normal Life (1996), Wild Things (1998), Speaking of Sex (2001) and The Harvest (2013). He has been active in the industry since 1970, frequently experimenting with various themes and stylistic elements. His career breaking film, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer was faced with numerous complications before its theatrical release in 1989, but despite the obstacles, its genius was recognized with best picture honours at various international film festivals, further solidifying McNaughton's place in the industry.
