Gabe Turner

Gabe Jeremy Simon Turner, commonly known as Gabe Turner, was born on 21 December 1980 in London, United Kingdom. From a young age he showed a fascination with both sport and storytelling, a blend that would later define his career. After studying film and business, he co‑founded the production house Fulwell 73, a company that quickly earned a reputation for marrying high‑octane documentary style with commercial sensibility. Turner’s role as a businessman and executive producer has seen him oversee a slate of projects that span sport, music and popular culture, positioning Fulwell 73 as a leading UK‑based content creator. His partnership with his brother Ben Turner proved pivotal, allowing the two to pool creative resources and launch their first major documentary in 2007. The 2007 feature In the Hands of the Gods chronicled the ambition of five young British footballers chasing a chance to play for Brazil’s legendary national team, and it marked Turner’s entry into the documentary arena. He followed this breakthrough with the celebrated The Class of ‘92 in 2013, a portrait of six Manchester United icons that blended archival footage with intimate interviews, earning both critical plaudits and commercial success. In 2014 Turner expanded into scripted cinema with The Guvnors, a gritty drama about contemporary British hooliganism that captured two National Film Awards. His later work on the Usain Bolt documentary—culminating in the 2016 release I Am Bolt—demonstrated his ability to capture the charisma of global sporting legends. Beyond film, Turner has directed high‑profile music videos for One Direction, Demi Lovato, Harry Styles and Olly Murs, further showcasing his versatility.
