Experience the breathtaking synergy of music and sculpture in Titan Sculptors, the third installment of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s acclaimed “Cultural Titans” series, a collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. This extraordinary concert film celebrates the legacy of four Cultural Medallion-winning artists – Ng Eng Teng, Han Sai Por, Chng Seok Tin, and Chong Fah Cheong – and their profound impact on Singapore’s artistic landscape. Witness a unique artistic dialogue as their iconic sculptures are reimagined through the vibrant compositions of four rising stars: Wang Chenwei, Phang Kok Jun, Luo Maishuo, and Koh Cheng Jin. Featuring captivating performances by conductor Quek Ling Kiong, the virtuosic gaohu player Zhou Ruoyu, and dizi masters Lee Jun Cheng and Ng Wei Xuan, Titan Sculptors is a truly unforgettable journey through the heart of Singaporean culture. Highlights include the Singapore premiere of “Light” Symphony No. 5, Movement I: Vibrant Life (composed by Liu Changyuan), Wang Chenwei’s poignant “Samsui Women,” excerpts from Tan Dun’s evocative “Crouching Tiger Concerto” (huqin solo by Zhou Ruoyu), and the world premiere of Luo Maishuo's "Compassion."
