Think big. Film music with choir

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NDR Radio Philharmonic with a spectacular spectacle, “Think big. Film music with choir.” Conductor Stefan Geiger, accompanied by soprano Catherina Witting, will lead the NDR Radiophilharmonie as it collaborates with more than 200 singers from Hanover’s finest choirs—Capella St. Crucis, Collegium Vocale, Johannes‑Brahms‑Chor, Junges Vokalensemble, Kammerchor, Knabenchor and others—and moderated by Martina Gilica. This season‑long celebration turns film music highlights into a grand, immersive experience. The program features sweeping scores from Howard Shore’s “The Lord of the Rings,” John Williams’s “Star Wars,” James Horner’s “Avatar,” James Newton Howard’s “Fantastic Beasts,” and “Star Trek Into Darkness,” among others. To accommodate the vast forces, the concert will move from the NDR Konzerthaus to the Kuppelsaal of the Congress Centrum Hannover, the largest classical concert hall in Germany.
