Concert Film

Experience the power and beauty of orchestral music in this captivating concert film, featuring both the vibrant Youth Orchestra and the distinguished Symphony Orchestra, led by the inspiring conductors Ali Groen and René Gulikers. The afternoon begins with the Youth Orchestra, showcasing a delightful program that includes excerpts from Brahms’s iconic Symphony No. 1 and Berlioz’s dramatic *Symphonie Fantastique*. They'll also perform a charming waltz from Eduard de Boer’s *Fairy Tale*, specially arranged for the Youth Orchestra, and Myroslav Skoryk’s poignant *Melody in A minor* – a beloved composition, originally from the 1982 film *Vysokyy pereval*, and now frequently performed as a moving tribute to the people of Ukraine. The Youth Orchestra concludes their set with the exuberant Kabalevsky Suite, a collection of three distinct and captivating movements. Following the intermission, the Symphony Orchestra takes the stage with Beethoven’s powerful Overture Leonore No. 3, drawn from his only opera, *Fidelio*, and continuing with Antonín Dvořák’s evocative American Suite in A major. Dvořák masterfully blends the sounds and rhythms of his time in New York with the familiar melodies of his Slavic heritage, creating a truly unique and unforgettable musical journey. Don’t miss this exceptional celebration of orchestral artistry!
