Spring Concert 2026 brings the Lillehammer Symphony Orchestra, the Lillehammer Symphony Choir, and the dynamic Vestre Aker Duschlag mixed choir together for a vibrant celebration of orchestral, choral, and stage music. Under conductor Christian Tenfjord, the orchestra opens with a fresh original composition crafted for the event and a spirited arrangement of “To the Youth” by Nordahl Grieg. The program showcases Strauss’s rousing Bat Overture, Verdi’s emotionally charged “slave choir,” Bizet’s buoyant Farandole, highlights from Les Misérables, Aaron Copland’s elaborate American ballet Rodeo, Ennio Morricone’s evocative Gabriel’s Oboe, and Aleksandr Borodin’s lush symphonic poem A Steppe Sketch. Led by Kaia Rullestad Teigen, the Vestre Aker Duschlag choir delivers dazzling performances of works by Gjeilo, Mozart, Elgar, and Bruckner, intertwining classical, church, opera, folk, musical theatre, and jazz traditions into a high‑energy, sparkling experience that alternates exhilarating excitement with moments of reflective beauty.
