Concert Film

Songs from the Silver Screen is a luminous celebration of cinema’s most beloved songs, brought to life by the incomparable Róisín Sullivan as singer and presenter, joined by legendary West End star Chris Holland as special guest singer, and accompanied by the elegant piano of David Wray. After dazzling audiences with sell‑out shows such as *Just Julie – The Julie Andrews Songbook*, *Sensational Showtunes*, and *The Magic of the Musicals*, Róisín returns to the National Concert Hall with a brand‑new programme featuring iconic movie‑musical numbers from Hollywood’s golden age and timeless tracks from cherished films. Róisín, a Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduate, has graced the North‑Cork Hall’s main stage as Maria in *The Sound of Music*, Nancy in *Oliver!*, and Grace in *Annie*, and has led roles on the national and international stage—including understudying Sir Tommy Steele’s Ghost of Christmas Past in *Scrooge* at the London Palladium, Eva Perón in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s *Evita* tour, and leading roles in the Broadway touring production of *Riverdance*, the West End premiere of *A Man of No Importance*, and *Sweeney Todd*. Back in Ireland she has starred in the Irish Premier of *Daddy Long Legs*, *Educating Rita*, *Ordinary Days*, *Flynn*, *Don’t Dress for Dinner*, *My Fair Lady*, and *Gigi* at the Gaiety Theatre. Chris Holland brings two decades of West End experience, having first appeared in the original 1993 production of *Miss Saigon* at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane and later headlining iconic roles such as Jean Valjean in *Les Misérables*, Firmin in *The Phantom of The Opera*, Billy Kostecki in *Dirty Dancing*, Pharaoh in *Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat*, Khashoggi in *We Will Rock You*, Vince Fontaine & Teen Angel in *Grease*, and Elwood Blues in *The Official Tribute To The Blues Brothers*. Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of cinematic classics, where Róisín’s soaring vocals, Chris’s memorable performances, and the timeless beauty of David’s piano set the stage for a truly cinematic concert experience.
