The program weaves together a tapestry of fantasia‑styled pieces: “On the Hill,” a shimmering exploration of J. Sibelius’s Rondino; “Pyotr Ilyich Visits the Peoples of the North,” a vibrant tribute to Tchaikovsky’s The Seasons; “In Winter,” a cool reworking of George Gershwin’s “Summertime”; “Eternal Love,” an evocative fantasia using music from films such as *Amélie*, *Tehran‑43*, *The Irony of Fate* and *The Toy*; “New Year’s Greetings,” a sparkling tribute to Tariverdiev’s Waltz from *The Irony of Fate*; “Minuet in the Palace” from the animated classic *The Bremen Town Musicians*; the lyrical Schubert “The Poet’s Song” from his “Winter Journey” cycle; the spirited Gavrilin “Tarantella” from the ballet *Anyuta*; and a triumphant closer, “Entrée,” taken from Fellini’s *8.5*.
