The celebration continues with Aaron Copland’s iconic Clarinet Concerto, originally commissioned by jazz legend Benny Goodman. As a special treat, Mark van de Wiel passes the baton to the Philharmonia's new Principal Clarinet, Maura Marinucci, for the instantly recognizable opening glissando of George Gershwin's *Rhapsody in Blue*, accompanied by the infectious energy of pianist Frank Dupree.
