Experience the stirring debut of the “Euskal Herria Hegan” soundtrack performed live by the Navarre Symphony Orchestra (OSN/NOS) under the baton of Fernando Velázquez at the 73rd San Sebastián Film Festival. On Sunday, September 21, the EITB Gala at the Anoeta Velodrome will showcase the orchestra delivering the first episode’s music, freshly recorded last June at the Barañáin Auditorium, in celebration of the upcoming ETB1 broadcast this fall. The evening also invites you to the hauntingly beautiful Goikobalu choir and the talented singer Olatz Salvador, whose voices add a final layer of emotional resonance to the concert. Following the music, immerse yourself in the captivating world of “Euskal Herria Hegan,” a nine‑episode documentary series each 50 minutes long, blending aerial cinematography, awe‑inspiring landscapes, architectural splendors, and the rich history and traditions of the Basque region. Directed by Javi Gutiérrez and Lorea Pérez de Albéniz, the premiere episode “Gipuzkoa Hegan” offers a unique aerial tour revealing the hidden treasures of Gipuzkoa. Alongside the orchestra, feel the power of music that underscores every narrative moment. Whether you’re a film aficionado or a music lover, this gala is a must‑see—part of the diverse Basque cinema selection of 38 productions at the festival, spanning feature films, shorts, series, and more across multiple sections such as Official, New Directors, Horizontes Latinos, and EITB Gala. Join us for a night of culture, sound, and visual splendor that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Basque homeland.
