Prague Proms: James Bond Night invites you to an unforgettable evening of cinematic music in the historic Smetana Hall of the Municipal House, continuing the festival’s beloved Hollywood Night tradition. This year’s concert is led back to the conductor’s chair by British composer, conductor and music director Chris Egan, whose extensive experience in film, television, theatre, and large live productions ensures a fresh, dynamic interpretation of iconic Bond themes. Egan’s meticulous eye for detail will introduce new soundtracks that will debut at Hollywood Night for the first time ever, while still celebrating the proven melodies that have defined world cinema. Program highlights include the classic John Barry themes from “Dr. No” (1962: James Bond Theme), “Goldfinger” (1964), “From Russia with Love” (1963), “You Only Live Twice” (1967), “Diamonds Are Forever” (1971), “The Man with the Golden Gun” (1974), and “The Living Daylights” (1987); the timeless Burt Bacharach piece “The Look of Love” from “Casino Royale” (1967); Paul & Linda McCartney and George Martin’s unforgettable “Live and Let Die” (1973); Marvin Hamlisch’s soaring “The Journey to Atlantis” and “Nobody Does It Better” from “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977); Michael Kamen’s “License to Kill” (1989); Eric Serra’s “GoldenEye” (1995); Chris Cornell & David Arnold’s “You Know My Name” from “Casino Royale” (2006); Thomas Newman’s “Torrential Rain” from “Skyfall” (2012); and David Arnold’s “Solange – The Name’s Bond…James Bond” from “Casino Royale” (2006).
