Concert Film

Italian Carnival invites you to experience a breathtaking journey through Italy’s most beloved music, captured on film by the Torun Symphony Orchestra under the dynamic baton of conductor Mario Menicagli and the soaring tenor voice of Aleksander Kruczek. From the first flourish of Gioachino Rossini’s rousing Overture to *The Barber of Seville* to the climactic strains of Giacomo Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” from *Turandot*, the program weaves iconic operatic arias, lush intermezzos and beloved popular songs into a single, unforgettable evening. Highlights include Verdi’s glittering “La donna è mobile” from *Rigoletto*, the tender Intermezzo of Act I in *La Traviata*, Masurca’s exhilarating overture to *Masques*, a bittersweet “Heart 'ngrato” from Cardillo, the spirited “Morning” by Leoncavallo, the sweeping overture to Rossini’s *L’Italiana in Algeri*, and a heart‑warming medley from Nino Rota. The film concludes with Puccini’s graceful Intermezzo for *Sister Angelica*, the joyful “O my sun” of Eduardo di Capua, a celebratory Nino Rota medley, and the irresistible finale “Funiculi, Funiculi” by Luigi Denza.
