Imants Kalniņš Theatre and Film Music Anniversary Concert

Celebrating the life and legacy of Latvia’s musical icon, Imants Kalniņš, the “Imants Kalniņš Theatre and Film Music Anniversary Concert” brings his most beloved film and theatre scores to an unforgettable evening. From the unforgettable pop‑anthem “Četri balti kerkli (Elpojiet džīži)” to the gentle “Ezera sonata”, the program showcases classics such as “Sprīdītis,” “Zaķīšu pirtiņa,” “Pūt, vējiņiņi!,” “Bimini,” “Zelta sietiņš,” “Kabata,” “Lilioms,” “Princis un bebaga zēns,” “Bernīns kapteiņa Granta,” and “Cilvēks kas smejas.” In honor of Kalniņš’s 85th birthday, the stage is shared by his most cherished collaborators and Latvian musical stars—including the “Menuets” orchestra, Marts Kristians Kalniņš, Uģis Roze, Uldis Dumpis, Aivars Gudrais, Miks Galvanovskis, Sandija Misika, Ieva Sutugova—and a host of actors and singers. Children’s folk dance ensembles “Dzintariņš” and “Zelta Sietiņš” add a lively touch, while special guests round out this celebratory night.
