Film Fest Gent - World Soundtrack Awards

Film Fest Gent invites you to experience the 26th World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert, a spectacular closing event of the WSA Film Music Days 2026. On 10 October 2026, at Music Centre De Bijloke, the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by maestro Dirk Brossé, will perform a curated selection of film music masterworks by the world‑renowned composer Trevor Jones, whose career boasts over 100 memorable scores, including *The Last of the Mohicans*, *Notting Hill* and *Mississippi Burning*. With the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Academy of St Martin in the Fields at his side, Jones has also crafted music for legends such as David Bowie, Sting and Sinead O'Connor. A former International Jury member who honored the Norwegian film *The Ice Palace* with the Grand Prix in 1988, Jones is a cherished figure in the cinematic community. He shares his excitement: “I am absolutely delighted to accept the great honour of the WSA Lifetime Achievement Award and it will be my privilege and pleasure to attend the WSA Ceremony. I look forward very much to meeting the composers and other film music professionals, and take this opportunity to thank the founders and organisers who have established the festival and fashioned it into one that is renowned and respected throughout the world, giving film music the platform it deserves.”
