Festival Krumlov: Duo Tesařová & Laštovičková – in the serene monastery gardens, violin virtuoso Pavla Tesařová, the new concertmaster of the Prague Philharmonia, teams up with accordionist Markéta Laštovičková, celebrated for her fearless experimentation and unique adaptations of classical repertoire. Together they blur the lines between tradition and romance, weaving a sonic tapestry that marries the elegance of the violin with the breathy magic of the accordion, inviting listeners into a dynamic dialogue of energy, melancholy, and playful humour. The programme opens with Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” (Winter – 1st movement), then flows into Saint‑Saëns’ “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, op. 28,” before Laštovičková’s own “Evening Song” and Richard Galliano’s “Tango pour Claude.” A brief interlude highlights the ever‑present dance of time with Laštovičková’s “V proměnách času (Through the Changes of Time).” The set continues with John Williams’ “Schindler’s List,” Václav Trojan’s “Slavík a smrt (The Nightingale and Death),” Franck Angelis’ “Com Astor,” Astor Piazzolla’s haunting “Ave Maria” and fiery “Libertango,” and concludes with Vittorio Monti’s spirited “Csárdás.” The duo’s authentic interplay, technical confidence, and narrative pulse have already won hearts across Czech and international stages—and now bring that magic to you through this immersive concert film.
