Concert Film

Brass Rhythems invites you to a breathtaking journey through the soundtracks that have defined generations of cinema. Programmed and premiered at the Tours Opera in April 2023, this film‑music concert—open to families—became a phenomenal success, delighting audiences with its original staging and arrangements crafted exclusively for the brass and percussion core of the Orchestre Symphonique Région Centre‑Val de Loire and the Tours Opera Choir. Under the dynamic baton of conductor David Jackson, the ensemble sails from timeless classics to modern masterpieces, bringing to life iconic melodies by Vladimir Cosma, Michel Legrand, Nino Rota, Jean‑Claude Petit, Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone, and the recent virtuoso Bruno Coulais. Highlights of the program include Legrand’s “The Young Ladies of Rochefort,” Morricone’s legendary “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” Petit’s “Cyrano de Bergerac,” Herrmann’s haunting “Taxi Driver,” Cosma’s exuberant “L’aile ou la cuisse (The Wing or the Thigh),” and Rota’s unforgettable “The Godfather.” Discover how the electrifying blend of brass, percussion, and vocal brilliance turns cinematic memories into live magic—details and tickets available here.
