Van Morrison

George Ivan "Van" Morrison (born 31 August 1945 in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a legendary singer‑songwriter whose career has spanned more than six decades, shaping the sound of rock, soul, folk, jazz and Celtic music. Raised in a working‑class Protestant family, he was exposed early to his father’s extensive record collection, which included blues, gospel and early rock ’n’ roll; this eclectic background became the foundation of his distinctive “Celtic soul” style.
