Timothy Granaderos

Timothy Granaderos (born September 9, 1986) is an American actor and model best known for his portrayal of Montgomery de La Cruz on the Netflix teen drama 13 Reasons Why. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and raised in the nearby suburb of Portage, he grew up in a multicultural household, being half‑Filipino on his father’s side, a member of the Chavacano ethnic group from Zamboanga. He attended Portage Northern High School where he excelled academically and athletically, later playing on the Michigan State Spartans men’s soccer team while majoring in advertising at Michigan State University. After graduating, Granaderos moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling and acting, quickly signing with One Management and appearing in a variety of print ads and commercials, including work for the clothing brand “hnly”. He began his entertainment career behind the camera as a production assistant on the short film Committed, which gave him valuable industry insight before stepping in front of the lens. In 2016 he landed his first notable acting role as Ash Franklin in the thriller web series Tagged, followed by a guest spot as Taylor Price in the TV series In the Vault. His breakout came when he joined the cast of 13 Reasons Why in 2017, initially as a recurring character; his performance earned him a promotion to series regular for the third season, cementing his status as a rising talent. Granaderos is represented by Silver Mass Entertainment and AKA Talent Agency, and continues to balance acting with modeling projects, maintaining a strong social media presence that showcases his fitness routine, cultural heritage, and advocacy for mental‑health awareness.
