Stefan Hnydziński

Stefan Hnydziński was a distinguished Polish film and stage actor whose career flourished during the vibrant interwar period of Polish cinema, leaving behind a notable legacy despite his tragic early death. Born on July 29, 1901, in Przemyśl, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire but is now located in modern-day Poland, Hnydziński emerged as a significant talent in the theatrical and cinematic landscape of the Second Polish Republic. He began his professional acting career in 1926 and rapidly established himself as a versatile performer, appearing in more than twenty-five films throughout his thirteen-year career in the entertainment industry. Tragically, his promising career was cut short when he sustained fatal wounds during the bombing of Warsaw on October 2, 1939, just weeks after the German invasion of Poland that marked the beginning of World War II.
