Shelley Conn

Shelley Conn is a British actress born on 21 September 1976 in London, England. She grew up in a military family, moving between Germany, Gibraltar and finally returning to London, where she discovered a passion for performance through school plays. After completing her sixth‑form education at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke, she trained at the Webber‑Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating with a solid foundation in classical and contemporary theatre. Conn broke into television with the role of Ashika Chandiramani in the BBC series Party Animals, and quickly followed with a regular part as PC Miriam Da Silva in Mersey Beat and a recurring appearance on Casualty. Her West End debut came in 2002, when she appeared in a three‑play Royal Shakespeare Company season at the Gielgud Theatre, showcasing her versatility in The Island Princess, Eastward Ho! and The Roman Actor. Over the next decade she built a varied résumé across film, television and stage, starring in British dramas such as The Innocence Project, Down to Earth, and Strike Back, as well as the US‑produced series The Palace and Mistresses. A career milestone arrived when Steven Spielberg selected her to co‑lead the $150 million sci‑fi series Terra Nova, where she played Dr. Elizabeth Shannon. More recently she gained international recognition portraying Lady Mary Sharma in season two of Netflix’s period romance Bridgerton, and taking on the demonic role of Beelzebub in season two of Good Omens. In 2023 she joined the Amazon Prime Video ensemble of Gen V, playing Indira Shetty, further cementing her status as a dynamic performer who moves effortlessly between genres and platforms. Outside of acting, Conn demonstrated her endurance by running the 2006 London Marathon, highlighting her commitment both on and off screen.
